Filipino seafarers are insured while overseas, but their insurance coverage expires at the end of their deployment and when our Filipino seafarers return to the Philippines. 

For the continuous protection of the seafarers, Cocogen Insurance, Inc. partnered with MARINO Party-list to provide Personal Accident Insurance while seafarers are undeployed and staying in the Philippines.

The partnership was formalized through the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the two parties led by Cocogen President, Atty. Darren M. De Jesus and MARINO Party-list Representative, Congressman Carlo “Sandro” L. Gonzales last June 17.

The insurance policy provides financial benefits in case of death or injury due to accident, permanent disability, unprovoked murder and assault, burial expenses in case of accidental death, and motorcycling-related accidents.

“Our heartfelt thanks sa ating mga seafarers sa lahat ng ginagawa nyo para sa ating bansa. We bring you this added protection and we want to be there for you. We guarantee our 100% best services for you,” De Jesus stated.

MARINO Party-list is an organization of seafarers advocating for cadet scholarship, family support and guidance, training for skills improvement, free legal services, and convenient licensing, all for the benefit of the seafarers.

“This insurance is here to protect even if the worst happens to our seafarers. We are very happy to partner with Cocogen as our partner in this endeavor. This is one manifestation of our commitment for our seafarer’s improved security,” Cong. Gonzales expressed.
